Exercise Tips

Courtesy of Zig Zag

I fought through my thoughts this morning about getting out and exercising. As I turned over in the bed my husband asked "Are you ready to go walking we need to get out and exercise?" What time is it? This healthy lifestyle change " hing" is daunting to me. I know walking with him means walking five to seven miles. Does exercise have to be so darn hard or is it my own thinking that is making this change so hard. I was still sleepy from tossing and turning last night. "I haven't had any decent sleep." I said. I peeked at the clock on the wall in front of the bed and the time said 6:57A.M.

I closed my eyes but never really went back to sleep. "You need to do this for your health" I thought to myself. Slowly I rose up to stretch out my hips because they were stiff. The thought of walking began to wear on my mind like a child who has been promised they were going to the park to play. "Your health." Still laced with sleep, I crawled down onto the carpet and sat with my legs spread out in a V position to start my stretches.

Couch to Confidence: Identify Self-Sabotage vs. Self-Care

My Journey Documented; Your Journey too

The idiom"Rome was not built in a day" implies one can not accomplish a great work in a short period of time. The same is true with changing to a healthy lifestyle. Tackling one unhealthy habit at a time is ideal and recommended but sometimes I desire to witness change quickly and fall into self-sabotage behaviors.

I have "dieted" countless times over the years and the insanity of the process has nullified my own distinction about identifying when I am taking care of my self. On Friday March 15, 2013 my taste buds were sparked after witnessing a young lady slurping the last of her Caramel Frappuccino from her transparent Starbucks cup (Keep in mind that I am not a coffee enthusiast.) This was random and I had not eaten anything for breakfast.

The thought of the Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks plagued my mind for hours I can get one I thought. I was on the university campus and knew there would be a long line as it was lunch time so I decided head to run a few errands before driving home.

If you are reading this blog then you are either thinking about sex, exercise or possible both. Where is your mind at? Where is my mind at? On "Sexercise." Creating a fun and diverse avenue towards a healthy lifestyle change keeps things interesting and if that means being unconventional then-sexercise fits in the category.

If you have not moved off the couch to exercise start with sexercise. For all the single big girls don't be discouraged or pressured about finding a sex partner. There are sexercise videos and classes designed to unite your sexuality with building your core for a healthy lifestyle change. From Couch to Confidence: Big Girl Tips to a Healthy Lifestyle Change

My journey documented: your journey too.

Exercise is the last thing on my mind when I have had a long day at the childcare coupled with school and taking care of my family? If your anything like me, I take a little "me" time which means getting comfy on the chocolate brown sectional in the living room and snuggling in the corner of the couch with my blanket and some wine to watch television which in turns watches me.

False mental promises to myself that I will rise at 5AM in the morning and workout to Billy Blanks Taebo DVD becomes mundane. Turret like exercise days from a revelation that "I need" to workout because I need to work out comes out in spurts of days and weeks and then I STOP. This insanity is making me insane and vulnerable to accept my body the way it is, but I know different.

Let's talk about sex: 5 Tips for Big Girl sexual positions

What's Libido?

It's your sex drive or sexually desire for another person. Increasing your exercise and lowering your body weight will level out your hormones when you are feeling bad, had a difficult day or if your angry at your partner.

Sexual organs are affected by the restricted blood flow due to fat deposits into the vessels. Exercise and weight loss counter act this factor and improves your sex drive.

A simple walk (5miles) around my neighborhood with my hubby on a Saturday morning affords us quality time during the walk and later that evening. Although I am a big girl under construction I know the benefits first hand on how losing ten pounds and exercising boost my morale both mentally and sexually.

Lifestyle change of 3 Plus size Female Celebrities

3 Curvy Celebrities opt for a healthier lifestyle change

Celebrities are people too. Not every Hollywood entertainer is losing weight for the red carpet or for the next number one movie on the big screen. Jill Scott, "Monique," and Chaka Khan have changed to become a healthier version of themselves.

The difference about this blog topic is these three women embraced their curves during their Hollywood career. They are just like us. They struggled with their weight and accepted their voluptuous bodies with confidence like many big girls who are reading this blog. But something happened to motivate a healthier lifestyle change besides flaunting their star power. See their reasons for change and before and after photos.

Big Girl Truth Within: 5 reasons to consider a Lifestyle Change

Feeling sexy vs. being healthy

"Take me to the ER," I whispered to my husband. "There is a piercing pain in my chest with pressure spreading across the wings of my shoulder blades through the front of my bra line." Oh my God, I am dying. I haven't felt this pain before.  I am breaking down like a worn pair of shoes that need the shoe repairman to fix. "I can't walk."

"I am coming mama this is the Big One," like Fred Sanford said to his wife Elizabeth on the T.V. show "Sanford & Son."  I awoke last night to this pain that caught my attention on purpose. Am I dying? Am I selfish for not taking better care of myself? Will I live to see my grandchildren have children? Will I need a heart transplant?Shit, will I even be a canidate for one? All these thoughts ran through my head while my husband drove me to the hospital at 1:23 A.M. on March 4, 2013.

From Couch to Confidence: Big Girl Lifestyle 5 Tips to Boost your Morale

I have a closet full of clothes in sizes that range from a size 12-20. I literally have my own Plus Size Store in my bedroom closet. The one size that hasn't changed significantly is my size 9 shoes with the exception of a few 8.5 shoes I purchased on sale.

Have you ever had those days when you try on clothes and the bulge is screaming out at you like a child having a temper tantrum? I stood in the mirror contemplating accessorizing my body with a pair of Spanx which I knew would add an additional 10 minutes to my dress time.  I really didn't want to feel constricted around the waist today because I my body feels more natural without the contraption and normally I wear the Spanx garment for some special occasions.

Valentines Day has passed and it's back to the daily grind. My husband purchased my favorite Reese Butter Cup as a gift and  it was in the form a heart. I use food for false comfort which turns me into a yo-yo dieter.

It is important to take self-notes of habits or choices which hinder you physically and emotionally as a big girl. The choice is yours and it begins with you! I have listed 7 tips to help change your life and your lifestyle forever.

Voluptuous Valentine: 6 Tips to Embrace your Valentine's Day

 Celebrate Loving you

Who made this Valentine Day what it is? His name was Saint Valentine and he was a priest in Rome during the third century. Saint Valentine secretly married soliders who were in love with their potential wives, despite the orders from their Emperor Claudius II, which outlawed marriage to young men because the Emperor believed the men made better soldiers as single men.

America along with other countries such as Canada and Mexico celebrate this day of romance. Febraury 14 is just days away and some people are planning to celebrate while others are sitting on the fence. Why? Stop it! There is no excuse. Romance yourself by doing something unconventional and out of the ordinary for you.
