I dare you; 7 Tips to a healthier you to build confidence

Valentines Day has passed and it's back to the daily grind. My husband purchased my favorite Reese Butter Cup as a gift and  it was in the form a heart. The size was bigger than my two hands put together! Never mind the beautiful flower arrangement stationed directly behind the candy. I was more enthralled with the candy. Why? I use food for false comfort which turns me into a yo-yo dieter.

It is important to take self-notes of habits or choices which hinder you physically and emotionally as a big girl. The choice is yours and it begins with you! I have listed 7 tips to help change your life and your lifestyle forever.

Biggirllifestyles encourages self- love and self- preservation. The balance of the two can be a challenge While some big girls acknowledge embracing their self-assurance,other big girls may need guidance and support from friends, family and biggirllifestyles.

7 Tips towards a permanent life style change

1.      Don’t hawk over the scale- the more you falter the greater you will apt to quit.

2.      Lift weights for a leaner body- the more toned your muscles are the smaller your body frame will become. (Note muscles weigh more than fat.)

3.      Walk away the pounds- Walking at a brisk pace for at least 30 minutes will promote weight loss. If walking outside is a challenge for you, try www.lesliesansonevideos.com to begin your journey.

4.      Redesign your plate- Load your plate with vegetables- ½ the plate, ¼ protein and ¼ complex carbohydrates. Examples of complex carbohydrates are:

a.       oatmeal

b.      wild rice

c.        brown rice

d.       oat bran

e.        cornmeal

f.        whole grain

g.      bread bagels buns

h.      pasta macaroni

i.        breakfast cereals which are made from whole grains (Suggestion-eat these grains before 7P.M. and eat with proteins.

5.      Make realistic goals- Plan your week of exercise on a calendar, ipad or preferred way of accountability. (Do not give up if you don’t complete your goal for the week. Acknowledge what you have done and update your goals for the next week.)

6.      Accept your new lifestyle change- Change is scary and the fact that you have decided to try will upset your old behaviors. Give yourself 21 days to see the new change take place of your new life style change.

7.      Journal- Write down what you’re thinking and what you have eaten. Do not be shy…be honest, reflect and try it again the next day. As the saying goes, “Rome was not built in a day,” and neither was the body we live in and the new body to come. Journal for the big girl you are and journal for the girl you will become.
