Lifestyle change of 3 Plus size Female Celebrities

3 Curvy Celebrities opt for a healthier lifestyle change

Celebrities are people too. Not every Hollywood entertainer is losing weight for the red carpet or for the next number one movie on the big screen. Jill Scott, "Monique," and Chaka Khan have changed to become a healthier version of themselves.

The difference about this blog topic is these three women embraced their curves during their Hollywood career. They are just like us. They struggled with their weight and accepted their voluptuous bodies with confidence like many big girls who are reading this blog. But something happened to motivate a healthier lifestyle change besides flaunting their star power. See their reasons for change and before and after photos.

Jill Scott

Jill Scott adopted a healthier lifestyle and shed 63lbs in two years. Her motivation to change her unhealthy habits began after the birth of her old son in 2009. Jill shared that she wanted to be around to witness her son grow up according to her interview in US Weekly.

"I'd walk up nine steps and would be out of breath!" Jill began to eat three low fat meals and exercise three times a week mixing up cardio and strength training with her trainer Scott Parker.

As a fan of the powerful spoken word artist and entertainer I must share with you Jill's 4th album titled  Light of the Sun. Click the link to get a feel of the soul tress artist.

Mo'Nique

Mo'Nique shares her weight loss secrets with us on bvwellness.com. Mo'Nique career as a comedian/actress was founded on being big and beautiful; however, she also admits that she didn't always practice what she preached about being a healthy big girl.

She topped the scales at 262 pounds and now fluctuate between 211 and 206. Her lifestyle change includes exercising five days a week for an hour before work which ranges from weight lifting, kickboxing, pull ups, jogging, football drills and sprints.
When Mo'Nique began her workout she started out exercising three times a week and gradually added on.

Her husband Sid had a non-judgemental heart to heart conversation with her ans said, "Baby, that's too much and I want you for a lifetime." Mo'Nique used her husband's words as motivation and decided she had to get some of the weight off her 5'6 body frame.

Mo'Nique won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the movie Precious, directed by Lee Daniels. The movie was based on a novel titled PUSH, by Sapphire.

Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan approach to a healthy lifestyle according to the San Francisco Chronicle from an interview on Access Hollywood was with a liquid diet. Chaka said, “I started out fasting … for four months. I did nothing but liquids; me and my VitaMix were best friends.
“In the morning I’d have a high protein smoothie and in the afternoon I’d have a vegetable smoothie and in the evening I’d have another protein smoothie.”

Chaka Khan healthy lifestyle change was due to her being diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure. Like Jill Scott her healthy lifestyle change spanned over two years which she tackled her abuse with drinking alcohol.

She states in the Huffington Post, "I'm just a human being and scared most of the time like everybody else is," she said, referencing her public struggle with drug and alcohol use. "I don't regret anything in my life because... it made me the amazing chick that I am."
